STINGRAYS COACHING STAFF
HEAD COACH: LAURIE FLYNN
Laurie Flynn is currently in her 7th season as the Stingray's Head Coach. Coach Flynn is originally from Pitsburgh, Pa. As a swimmer, she competed for the South Park Swim Club, Baldwin Whitehall Swim Club, Baldwin High School, and Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Some of her accomplishments as a swimmer include several swims at Districts, States, and JO's, and All American consideration. She graduated from IUP with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1992, and taught in public schools for eight years before beginning her family in 2001. Coach Flynn has been working in aquatics teaching and coaching youngsters since 1988. She also served as Minister of Music for several years at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, in the Washington DC area. Coach Flynn is coaching member of USA Swimming, and the American Swim Coaches Association. She is certified in First Aid, CPR, AED, Oxygen Administration, and Lifeguarding. She resides in Hanover with her husband Tim, daughters Molly and Caroline, and son Nathanial.
ASSISTANT COACH: BRIANNA SHAFFER
Brianna Shaffer is currently entering her 2nd season as the Stingrays Assistant Coach. Coach Shaffer is a native of the Hanover area and swam competitively for South Western. She is currently a student at York College, with a double major in Elementary Education, and Special Education. She has been on staff at the Hanover YMCA for several years. Coach Shaffer is certified in First Aid, CPR, AED, Oxygen Administration, and Lifeguarding. She resides in Hanover with her family.
